I don't understand Uno VIN polarity - Help

Thanks. That simple answer is all I asked for in my first post.

if you are satisfied and the answer was helpful, take a sec to tick the "solution" box :+1:

One more question, and, again, please don't anyone accuse me of being a troll just for asking a simple question as a newbie. I have never gotten this on any other board I am a member of. Not sure why asking questions on here elicits such mean responses.

Does it matter whether you plug it into the either of the 2 GND ports near beside the Vin port or the GND port on the other side of the board?

No it does not matter. The 2 ground pins are tied together and are electrically the same. The same can be said of the ground pin by pin 13 and the ground pins on the 2 ICSP 6 pin header. They are all 5 ground pins.

I apologize for the troll remark. I thought that I, and others, had made the connection clear enough. I just seemed that you were not reading what was posted.

Thank you. Sorry I had just missed your comment and was also a bit confused. That can happen when one is so new to something, especially electronics.

Just happened upon this just now at arduino|help center|generic by accident. It's the answer to my initial question:

We're happy you could find your own solution. :joy:

@anon628042 makes onto my very exclusive list. No more of my time will be wasted by them.

I am so glad that you finally got your solution.

I rescind my apology.

Really? What did I do to deserve that? Seems like the nastiness has no limits on here. Sheesh!

Absolutely!
Your question has been answered 6 times in the topic, but since you don't read the replies, you ended up being dissatisfied and didn't think to say thanks at least once for the whole thread

It was answered twice by groundfungus and that's it. I missed the first time. I then apologized numerous times for being a newbie more than once and missing the first explanation. I get called a troll just because I was confused about the answer. I confirmed I finally understood and never asked again. Anyone who replied after that did so without me asking. groundfungus then apologizes for calling me a troll and then in his very next message for no reason I can understand out of the blue does a 180 degree turn and takes his apology back. Absolutely totally bizarre.

Never been treated this way on any of the forums I have ever been on. Have a little grace people and remember you were new at one time too please. Making people feel bad who just want help is just not right.

And then you took credit for solving the problem. Your ignorance and lack of empathy is without bounds.

I did not take any credit, whatsoever. That's the last thing I would do. Groudfungus deserves ALL OF THAT and I thank him profusely. I merely posted that as an FYI and for others that wanted to see that it is also available on this website in the Help section.

Geez, talk about jumping to ridiculous conclusions and trying to impose your lack of understanding on me! Please remove the chip from your shoulder.

You specifically said:

when it was @groundFungus that solved the problem with absolutely no cooperation from you. You got the credit for the solution on the stats page.
“I’m a newbie!” only works so long as an excuse for not following the forum guidelines.

Bless your heart.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Um, I hit solved because that's what the instructions said to do if my question was solved. I had NO IDEA that it would say 'Solved by me' because obviously it was not. Sheesh. Please stop your constant ranting and raving. It does not look good on you and smacks of personal issues. I'm not visiting this thread anymore as this NEWBIE got their answer.

Suit yourself but when the forum suddenly goes quiet on your threads, you might consider that not following forum guidelines is not such a good idea.
