that error indicates it's not communicating with the Arduino running the Arduino as ISP sketch. Did you upload it to the Uno first? You need to do that. You may also need to disable autoreset after uploading arduino as ISP- the easy way to do that is a ~10uF (anything from 1 uF to thousands will work) cap between reset and ground on the arduino running the arduino as ISP sketch...
