I'm using an arduino uno with a seeedstudio gprs shield. One question I have is can I stack a motor shield on top of my gprs shield that is on top of my arduino, will that work? I'm wanting to send an sms message to remotely trigger power to a wire that will have the 9 volt batteries hooked up to it. Is this possible or is there an easier approach? I have a wireless 4 channel relay but it requires 12 volts to power the relay, I'm needing to stay under a certain weight limit since this contraption will be going on my drone. Thanks.
You don't need a motor driver, just a spare output pin to drive a N-MOSFET controlling low side power to the solenoid/relay.

A little more info or some links and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! I have only 2 days to complete this project though so I can't really wait on things to come in the mail. I'm wondering how long 8 AA lithium batteries would power my remote 4 channel relay that is 12v? Then I could just do without the gprs shield.
Will this device explode or in any way scare, harm or kill anyone? >:(

Indeed it will explode, but far away from people and in a safe manner!

Animals?
PaulRB:
Animals?
I eat animals so no need to explode them, I have guns for that. Thank you for your concern though.
So what are you destroying?

And we believe this why?

Go ahead and don't believe it? What do I need to prove to you? Absolutely nothing. No need for the internet cops hijacking this thread.
I know someone who has their arm blown off.

I know someone who has died.
He lost his arm 20 minutes after he said what he was doing won't hurt anyone.
And yes, I know someone who has died too.
