Hey guys, first off hello, i am new to the forum. I'd like to start by saying that i am probably very novice compared to the rest of you in circuitry but i have the fundamentals down.
Here is the plan. The team iLuminate performance on Americas Got Talent basically what my project is (what im talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRwX9oCaE9Q). I want to create something similar and program it with my music and choreography using EL wire. I have used EL wire in performances before and have built my own suit (Video of my performance in talent show, my suit is the Aqua one [this is on my YouTube channel] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZkcp1XjNXg), What i want to do is cut the EL wire and separate it into channels that i can connect to a sequencer through my driver and an arduino with some kind of wireless shield (Im thinking bluetooth) where i can program it on my computer and press a button that would play the sequence on my computer and sending the commands to the arduino with perhaps a bluetooth usb on my computer.
What i want to know is if this is even possible. If so what it is that extra chips i need to buy to build this. I was thinking of buying this sequencer http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9203 (or a few because i probably will have more than 8 channels) this bluetooth shield http://www.micro4you.com/store/arduino/arduino-shield/arduino-bluetooth-shield.html and this bluetooth usb for my computer to send to the shield http://www.amazon.com/Medialink-Bluetooth-Adapter-Compatible-Available/dp/B004LNXO28/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1323144140&sr=8-3 and of course an arduino, probably the UNO
I have no idea if this is possible with the setup i'm thinking about. Is there anything else that i need and would this ever work? I really do need help becouse i've got a feeling that i can't tell what half of these chips do or thier limits. I also have no idea about the software aspect of it too. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Thank you so much for any help. Highly appreciated.
