I trying to make an lcd thermostat

Hi, I'm trying to make a thermostat for my a/c in my room that when the temperature reaches above 72 degrees F, switch on a relay. I want to use a lm35 temperature sensor, and then convert that C to F. On the display I'd like to display the current temperature, and a set temperature. I don;t mind what pin they are connected to. Can anyone help, because this is my first time writing code and I have a hard time after I read all the references at www.arduino.cc . Also I'd like to use 2 tac switches or a potentiometer 10k ohm to control the set temperature. I what to say turn on rely when the temperature is above 72 degrees(being able to det this on the arduino and control it in the lcd. Then "cool" until the lm35 or ardunio gets ot read the set temp. Can anyone please help me?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

Here, this will help you. http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-LCD-Thermometer-with-LM35-Temp-Sensor/

Just add a line in the code to turn on the relay when temperature gets above the required one.

Do you realize that you could do this with a simple mechanical thermostatic switch costing a couple of bucks?
