I want to calculate water droplet speed with arduino

I am the beginner with Arduino.
What I want to make is to calculate the speed of falling water droplets.
I want to find the speed per minute of a water droplet falling at a constant speed on an oval with a diameter of 1cm, but I don't know how to do it.
I think I need to use an ultrasonic sensor or an infrared sensor. How can I make it?
Is it possible to make it less than 5cm in length, width, and height?

plesease let me know

Speed is a vector (m/s) and dividing speed by time yields an acceleration (m/s/s)... so you will get 9.8m/s/s.

As you said, you don't need a sensor for that, you can calculate it. The droplet will accelerate at 9.8m/s².

Did you mean to say the rate at which they are falling, how many droplets per minute?

They don't fall at a constant speed, they accelerate due to gravity. Only when they reach terminal velocity will their speed become constant. Depending on the size of the droplets, they could fall 5 to 10m before reaching terminal velocity.
