I feel pretty lame but I am unable to get the I2C examples using 2 R4 Minima boards to work. Wired exactly as shown. Copied the software and successfully compiled and loaded for both the master and the slave. The receiver event functions never get called. I tried both examples with no luck. Each of the two boards is connected to a different pc running the IDE for that board. Power is from the USB. Anyone have any suggestions on why this might not be working?
I have no pullups mounted. Boards are factory fresh.

What leads you to believe that?
The big red Xs and the fact that they are not shown or mentioned in the documents I have seen. Can you direct me to the technical note on this?
I mentioned no technical note so I have no idea to what you are referring.
You might benefit from a quick read through on how the I2C bus works. A high level overview would likely do the trick.
