i2c bus overvoltage protection

Any Thoughts on I2C Bus overvoltage protection? I Failed to tell this from my last forum post
:stuck_out_tongue:
Can i use a i2c level translator for the job?

Hi,
Looking at your previous thread.

You need to exercise care and attention when connecting your circuits.

It seems your over voltage experience was due to your mistake, not from component failure.
Learn from it please.

Tom..

But, it's good to have a protection than a exposed arduino

As TG says, do things with care. An overvoltage device introduces more riscs for communication failure.

As long as you connect things correctly, an I2C bus doesn't need overvoltage protection.

Ok, because at this point i broke 5 arduinos already and a lcd i'll just try to be more carefully

Seems OP is connecting this to an SMBUS.
