I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to try the code. Sitting in chair tonight thinking about the code it came more clear so I just HAD to come out and see if I could get it working..... IT WORKED!!!!
Yep, as I turn pot there is the bump as LCD updates, then stop turning pot and everything evens out and motor runs smoothly.
