I tag threads I have started with something like [done] when my question is answered. It would be a great help if I could use some check mark icon instead of changing the subject of the thread.
What do you think?

Probably a useful idea - but not as useful as getting rid of the irritating moving avatar.

Agree that we need some type of way to mark a thread solved. Sparfun has a PHPBB forum and has an addon for an OP to click a check box on any post that answered his question. Along with that it automatically inserts [SOLVED] into the title.
Since I have been on this forum for a long time, I know the developers here won't implement it. This idea has been brought up many times.
Even better I would like to see an icon or checkbox visible to only those with more than 100 posts. When it is checked it signifies the original poster never returned to answer basic questions or acknowledge whether a proposed solution worked or not, and the thread is abandoned and useless. If nobody unchecks it or adds an additional post to the thread within 7 days, the entire thread is deleted.
You forgot sending a robot to his email account set up to totally wipe the OPs hard drive.

Serious: I would like to know why some $FEATURES aren't implemented (not even IMO simple things like the Karma-Counter in ones profile).
