IDE 1.6.11 won't compile "Blink" sketch

Hi - I had the same type of error - here is how I solved it.

  1. Make sure your Java is up to date - go to www.java.com
  2. I downloaded the newest Arduino software.
  3. In Windows - go to user accounts and settings. Create a new user for Windows and make sure it has administrator permissions. I called my new user account Arduino. Log in with the new desktop.

Any error messages I had went away.
