Hi - I had the same type of error - here is how I solved it.
- Make sure your Java is up to date - go to www.java.com
- I downloaded the newest Arduino software.
- In Windows - go to user accounts and settings. Create a new user for Windows and make sure it has administrator permissions. I called my new user account Arduino. Log in with the new desktop.
Any error messages I had went away.
Easier way than setting up a new account is to "run as administrator" google it.
Note that this is ABOVE a user with admin rights.
That allows you to run programs as a normal user but some programs as FULL admin as you choose.
