IDE 2.2 black screen and output window

In IDE 1.x you had a separate window for output. That was nice compared to IDE 2.2.
In IDE 2.2 the black screen sometimes disappears and the output screen appears all by itself. Sometimes not.

If you happend to use a board without Reset, you got to do some handwork, if you want to see, what the board is printing to the Serial in the beginning :

  1. Compile & upload
  2. select output
  3. disconnect of the USB
  4. connect the USB
    5 hope that the IDE has not disconnected USB

The only way to make this work is to open another IDE for the compilation and ulpoad and another for the output.

I've never seen the serial monitor disappear by itself; I've also not seen the output window where e.g. the compile results are displayed disappear.

As this seems specific to IDE2.x, your topic has been moved.
