IDE COM port issues

Hi,

Using Windows 10 Pro.

With Arduino 1.6.8 I keep getting error messages about not being able to upload due to some COM port issue.

With Arduino 1.6.7 I don't see these errors.

Known problem?

Just me?

Yes, I think it's the same as this one: Arduino 1.6.8 constantly polling serial, resetting Arduino board, Access Denied - Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum. The issue has been reported to the developers and they're working on a fix but it seems like the proposed fix(I posted a link to the test build files in the other thread if you want to try it) isn't solving the problem for everyone.

Sorry about posting in the wrong place.

I just now noticed the faint arrows at the right of the headers allowing them to be opened.

You live and learn.
