IDE does not show Port

Hi, my name is Henrik. I use OS X Capitan. Try to upload code on a Arduino Nano via USB. The port indicator under tools in the IDE is not active. How can i solve this? (Checked also the Arduino online editor, but cannot select a port there either.)
Thank You!
Henrik

Which chip is on the bottom of the board? Is it an FTDI FT232RL or CH340?

You may need to install the serial USB adapter driver.

Please see if this post helps:

Driver missing (see the link rtek1000 posted if it's a CH340G, which 99% of clones use) - there was a saga in recent versions of MacOS where the required driver changed every time they released a new version of the OS, and a considerable amount of confusion related to it.

Either that, or the board is bad. But it's probably missing CH340G driver.
