ide error message "avrdude stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00"

hi, sorry for my bad english, i try to explain my problem and the test that i have made.

i have bought an arduino uno r3, (i cant find the serial number but on the box there is this barcode 764015211092 and another barcode u00864168)
when i try to program this with ide i see that ide produce this error

avrdude stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

then i check in forum and on google...
i have made these tests:

check the number of com port that arduino uses and this was the same of ide
tried to manually change the number of com port ...

try to install on these 3 pc
notebook acer travelmate with xp sp3
notebook acer switch 10 with w8 r1
pc dektop p3 with xp sp3
the ide 1.0.5-r2 not work fine on all of these pcs

i have tried to change the usb cable with other 2 cables, but no changes

then i have tried to install these other 2 version of ides
1.0.4
1.5.6-r2
but the error was the same

then i have tried to change drivers of Arduino (virtual usb) com port with the drivers that are stored under
c:\prog...\arduino\drivers\

then i have tried to unpack the old_arduino_drivers.zip
and manually replace the drivers of arduino vcm with

  1. Arduino uno rev3.inf
  2. arduino uno
  3. arduino usb serial

then i have tried another arduino uno r3 board (same box/lotto) and the result is the same (i can't upload sketch)

finally i have use a MacBook pro, and on this all work fine (but i can't use mac for this) !!!!

i have buyed starter kit and other arduino board and i can't use this if i use a pc windows !
i see that on google or on forums there are a lot of people with this problem and witout specific solution !!
can anyone help me please ?? ...

Hello,

Maybe it's a stupid question but, in the Tools menu of the Arduino IDE: did you choose the correct board model, and is the Programmer set to AVRISP MkII ?

Also I can suggest:

  • Plug your Arduino to your PC
  • Go in Windows's Devices Manager, right click on the Arduino device and click Uninstall,
  • Unplug the Arduino from your PC
  • Uninstall every Arduino IDE that you tried (basically uninstall everything related to Arduino)
  • Restart your PC,
  • Install the latest Arduino IDE
  • Plug the Arduino to your PC
  • Go in Devices Manager and check that the driver has been installed correctly (no yellow exclamation mark)

Yes but I have tried all combinations of board model and kind of programmer

Sorry, if i use avirisp mkII
The error is that ide can't finds the USB device

i have the same problem
i can load sketches to the uno but cannot load to mini pro using the uno board

ok my problem was that i use a wrong button to program arduino.
to upload i was use the Write Bootloader (menu choice)
then another user show the good button to program arduino and it work fine
sorry for my stupid require

Ahhh n00b ! J/K
