IDE slow startup ?

Hi,

I have installed Arduino IDE v 1.6.6. 64bit on a OpenSuse 13.1 64bit Linux OS

From clicking the desktop launcher to appearance of the IDE take about 35 sec.

Is this the usual startup speed or are there methods to make this quicker ?
