Been using the IDE successfully for a fair while- but kept getting bugged to update it. So I downloaded the latest version from the website and installed it. I got a few unable to write to file warnings on installation - the only option was ignore and continue.
Once installed, I rebooted and now the IDE wont open. It flashes up but never opens. I reinstalled and same thing again??
Any ideas on how to stop the installation error? Guessing this is the problem?

Answer my own question so anyone else who has this problem sees this solution.
If You install the IDE whilst you have an old version of the IDE installed the installer throws the unable to write to file warnings - this will prevent the IDE from launching when installed.
If you uninstall the old IDE manually from the control panel, and then install the new IDE it will install without any errors and subsequently you can launch it successfully.
It appears that the uninstaller which runs from within the installer fails to uninstall the old IDE correctly.
