IDE will only run as administrator

Installed the latest IDE for a class today and horror or horrors it would not run unless I went around to each PC and ran it as the system administrator.

Any ideas as to how I could fix this?

The same thing happened when I tried the zipped distribution.

I am using arduino-1.6.5-r2 with Windows 8.1

I uninstalled 1.6.5-r2 and installed 1.5.6-r2 and all works fine

You probably need to change the permissions for the directory.
In Windoze under "Properties" give "users" full control, as only as much as u want to.

I had the same problem.

I reported the problem but it hasn't been fixed.

1.6.5 2r will only run as administrator.

I've reverted to 1.6.4 which works without having to set any permissions.

At present running a slightly old version is not a problem, but this needs to be fixed for future versions.
