Ive been looking at the Arduino User Projects Page and its really making me cry.
Its just a wiki page with everyone posting in it. Looks like a mess to me.
Until someone finds a way to categorize what is here, be sure to remember that your browser has a "find in this page" tool (ctrl-F in Firefox) which can help you find what you are looking for!
Yes, i do!
It would be (allot) better to have a dedicated page/site for all the arduino projects. Face it, this is not going to work on a wiki page.
I have this great idea on how to create a new site where you can find all projects in one place.
Allow users to discuss the projects, give comments, rate it, share it,....
I can even code the whole thing myself.
Some features can be: (Advanced*) search, Ratings, Events (not telling what yet), and allot more.
advanced would be:
By User
By component/library
By Board (Uno,Yun, Lilypad)
By Shield
Most viewed
Top Rated
-....
However, do the arduino creators/devs allow this?
Do the webmasters have any experience in this?
Can i use existing colors / layout to create a site like this?
Can any member from the arduino community reply to this?

well iam "kinda" busy on it, but i think i need some feedback regarding legal issues.
its better they grant me permission to use content from the arduino site

There is a long list of suggestions for improvements to the forum. They are not being implemented quickly. Sorry, but we moderators don't have any influence over that.
Well permission from both users and arduino, it will be a community driven website, so to avoid any legal problems, ill need everyones permission (blame US for the "silly" laws)
however the domain/host will be in the EU so other rules may apply
I am not a copyright expert - these are just a lay persons views

Do you mean a website that searches this Arduino Forum so as to enable people to search it effectively?
I can't see how that would upset anyone as it would just make the existing site more useful
Or do you mean to create a website which competes with this website?
If all the material is contributed by the users - as it is in this Forum - I can't see how there could be a problem.
There is already a lot of Arduino stuff on Stackoverflow
Have you considered using the Stackoverflow system for your website. It has some nice features.
But it does not facilitate discussion in the way that a Forum does.
Personally I would be very happy with this Forum if it just had the added feature of tags so that you could easily find, say, all the Threads about chicken coops. However someone would need to manage the tags so that you did not get chickenCoops, chicken-coops, chicken coops and chicken runs.
