Idea for a design project based on LoRa

Hi everyone, I'm currently taking a design subject and I was tasked to create a design based on LoRa. My idea was to create an emergency button using AdafruitFeather M0 with LoRa module and BN-180 GPS receiver for the GPS tracking. My question is, is it possible to incorporate it with an SMS module, say a SIM900 GSM so that whenever the button is pressed, the GPS location will be sent via SMS?

Well if you have a GSM module you won't need the LoRa - but you will have to figure out power management for the GSM module and have a bigger battery capable of 2A.

I'd keep things simple to start with, one step at a time.

if it is a Lora project do you require a GSM modem? why not a simple GPS device?
