Ideas for halloween outfits?

So, I think it's about time to start planning next halloween.

I'd like to make some sort of "smart" outfit this year, using arduino.

I have 2 ideas now:

  1. El-Wire suit with different "faces".
    Components:
    EL Escudo - COM-09259 - SparkFun Electronics
  • inverter
  • arduino board
  • some sensors
  • battery packs
  • some el wires

I think that can be done for about 100$.

Then idea 2)
Robot outfit..

the only problem with the robot, is I think it's not very practical at a party.. eg. hard to sit down.

Any other ideas guys? (or girls?). Do you have any cool outfits you ahve made before?

This is my best costume so far

I used a sound card and some leds + batteries. The metal briefcase contained my beer.

I want to top this costume this year though..

Daft punk?
That would be cool for a costume, if you are fine with a costume of a famous person.

You could have an led display like in one of their robot masks, or you could do EL wire like some of the costumes they sometimes wear.

This includes both of your original ideas!

Well, if you want to continue your previous theme, you could fill your underwear with high-intensity red and amber LEDs, and have the Arduino flicker them while it generates a fizzling sound...

I have to wonder why you're asking this in April, though. Is Halloween rescheduled among the Norse because of the risk of little trick-or-treaters getting frostbite if they go out in costume on 31 Oct?

thx for the tips so far..
I have to go something "new" (new for me).

The haloween is not moving no, but I want to have a a lot of time to play with the outfit.. Also I will have to import stuff, so customs use time, etc.
