Ideas on inspection robot.

Hey all,

I had an idea to build a remote controlled inspection camera and I came across this post.

I was intrigued by it, and decided that it would be cool to build. However, this bot seems to be kinda tall, so I was wondering, if at all possible, if it could be thinner? If so, what products would you recommend?

I'm working on kind of a tight budget, so my ideal number is around $100, but I could spend more if need be..

If you need more information, please don't hesitate to ask :).

Thanks,
Zach

Hey,

A few requirements for this robot are:

  1. Must be able to wirelessly communicate with the operator - including camera and controlling the pan/tilt/zoom functions of the camera.

  2. Ideally, the tracks should be able to adjust on the robot, depending on the size of the pipe/tunnel it will be in.

  3. Ideally, the height of the robot should not be over 3 inches.

  4. Ideally, I'd like to slap together a Arduino-powered controller with LCD for battery status and other information.

That's basically it.

If you need anything else please let me know.

Thanks,
Zach
