If I have a wire off of a battery that splits into 2 wires will it still be 24v what will happen? I thought maybe I could do this to power my 8 pin relay to boost amps for my motor and my motor controller at same time.
Really not enough information to answer the question. Can you provide a wiring diagram and specs for the relay, motor and motor controller?
The battery voltage will not change unless the wire connects them in series, if so the battery voltage will go to 0 although each individual cell will still maintain its own voltage. Consider your self lucky but replace the potentiometer as it will eventually fail and probably is not the correct value. To get a proper answer you need to supply more information such as a schematic and component specifications. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.
