If Statement for my arduino mega + fingerprint sensor

Hello dear friends,
i am new on arduino research and i have problem in the code.
when i buy fingerpriint sensor i have two sketches there is :

  1. Enroll = This code for save our finger to database
#include <Dyrobot_Fingerprint.h>
#if ARDUINO >= 100
 #include <NewSoftSerial.h>
#else
 #include <SoftwareSerial.h>
#endif

uint8_t getFingerprintEnroll(uint8_t id);

// pin #2 is IN from sensor (GREEN wire)
// pin #3 is OUT from arduino  (WHITE wire)
#if ARDUINO >= 100
SoftwareSerial mySerial(2, 3);
#else
NewSoftSerial mySerial(2, 3);
#endif

Dyrobot_Fingerprint finger = Dyrobot_Fingerprint(&mySerial);

void setup()
{

  Serial.println("fingertest");

  // set the data rate for the sensor serial port
  finger.begin(57600);

  if (finger.verifyPassword()) {
    Serial.println("Found fingerprint sensor!");
  } else {
    Serial.println("Did not find fingerprint sensor :(");
    while (1);
  }
}

void loop()                     // run over and over again

but now how to make it become one sketch, so in the serial monitor i can choice to enroll or checkfingerprint.
are possible using if statement? thanks dear

You will need to post all of "void loop()" if you want us to have a crack at it ( error message says line 58 and 272, your code is cut short ).

But you have either left a semi colon off the end of a class declaration or you have not matched the number of open brackets '{' with closed ones.

oh dear thank you for help me… this is my full code :

got error
IF_Statement.ino: In function ‘void loop()’:
IF_Statement:58: error: a function-definition is not allowed here before ‘{’ token
IF_Statement:272: error: expected `}’ at end of input

Try Auto Formatting your code and it will give you a clue as to what is wrong.

Check each left brace for a corresponding right brace and that both are in the right place in the code. Put the cursor to the right of any brace or bracket and the corresponding matching one will be highlighted.

You do not have a closing brace for your "void loop()". It needs to go before the function "getFingerprintEnroll".

i just one to make enroll and check finger in one sketch so user can choice to enroll or check finger but iam stuck how to do it..

Hello dear i was update the topic maybe someone can help me here..
