I'm having trouble connecting a BlueSMiRF Gold module to an ESP32 (Arduino UNO)

I want to establish one way communication between my arduino and my ESP32 through bluetooth, but for some reason I can't figure out how to configure the BlueSMiRF correctly. The ESP32 code is just a simple BluetoothSerial code that's supposed to listen to any incoming connection and print incoming data to the console.

On the Arduino, I have executed the following commands:

I,5 (this found FCF5C408662A,ESP32,2C110)

After that the SMiRF prints 'TRYING', and after around 20 seconds it say 'CONNECT failed.' The Arduino code is just the CMD mode passthrough program I found on the internet.

I think there's something wrong with pairing on the SMiRF, because I can't connect it to my phone, or my PC either. I've done multiple factory resets with SF,1 but I still can't get it to work properly.

Can someone help me figure this out?
