Im looking for a sensor?

Hey,

I'm looking for a small sensor wich i know i seen used before, so
it basically turns on a device or dc motor when it goes over its opposite
side but will still keep the sytem running if taken off of it.
its a small sensor .I just dont remeber what it was called.

Do you mean a tilt switch or an accelerometer?

well more like, say a magnet going over its oposite side and acting like a switch

That will be a reed switch or a hall effect sensor then.
