Impromptu use of the USB stick on OPTA

Hello everyone,
I am developing an application on the OPTA platform that connects to both the Arduino Cloud and a MySQL server.
When I need to change the network parameters or access to the MySQL server I must necessarily change this data in the program.
As for other system parameters I change them via Cloud by sending a Json string from a smartphone but as for the connection parameters this is not possible.
I was thinking of writing a configuration Json string on a USB stick, inserting it into the OPTA USB before bootstrapping, if the system detects the presence of the USB stick it loads the new values, then waits for the operator to extract the stick and finally resets the OPTA.
I tried but the Serial is no longer available. Since both the Arduino Cloud and the MySQL library use the Serial for information, everything stops and the Watchdog intervenes.
Is there a solution?
