INA169 with solar panel and 3.3v

I have an adafruit INA169 breakout used to measure current.

I am hoping to use this to measure the rate of charge from a solar panel to my LiPo battery which is powering the arduino.

Is it as simple as placing the INA169 VIN+ and VIN- between the positive from the solar panel and the charging input of the LiPo battery shield?

P.S the arduino is all run off 3.3v from a 3.7v lipo

So long as there's a suitable shunt resistor, yes.
