INA219 Current Sensor Wiring Question

Hi. I have a solar tracking project with a solar panel that puts out usb, and the battery I am using is a usb power bank. The intention is to have the solar panel charge the battery, and the battery powers the project.

The problem I am having is that when hooked up in configuration 2, the battery does charge (the charging light comes on on the battery bank), but the current readings are usually zero. When connected in configuration 1 (battery not being charged, solar panel usb output connected directly to INA219), the current readings will be in the neighborhood of 2000 milliamps.

Can anyone confirm that my second wiring configuration is correct?

Can you please post a complete copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?
Show the controller and all the 1NA219 connections.

Can you post a picture of your project so we can see your component layout.

Thanks… Tom…

Figured out the issue, had the polarity flipped. In configuration 2 in the picture, I have the solar panel +5V going to INA219 V- pin and then coming out the V+ pin to continue the circuit. But I reversed them, have the USB +5V connected now to INA219 V+ pin and out the V- pin to complete the circuit.
