Inaccurate Joystick readings (Sorted)

After trying to fathom why I couldn’t get accurate readings from a simple setup and sketch for an analog thumb joystick project. It dawned on me that it might not have anything to do with the joystick or the code.
So I put aside the pegboard and connected shorter wires directly to the UNO A1,A2 & A3 pins and bingo. ‘Twas an answer to my problem. As accurate as you like.
Please add this to your search if you have a similar problem.
Regards,
Chris

Congrats!
That's a recepe that always helps. Poor connection in breadboards is another trap.
The longer wires obviously acted as antennas and picked up electrical noice.
