Hello all!
Seems to me that many newcomers (including me) gets interested in Arduino because of MIDI. I´d like to suggest that MIDI gets it own sub-board under software in this forum.
Any thoughts about this?

FWIW while I understand the desire to have all MIDI-related posts in one easy to find location I tend to think (IMHO) the fewer sub-boards the better.

Although I've been thinking it would be good to split up the hardware interfacing board (by far the largest) into a few different categories. For example, audio, motors & mechanics, leds & displays, sensors, communications, etc. Or something like that. At the moment the board is really hard to dig through.
That would even be better IMHO. For exemple would communication cover a wider base, and probably be more easy to navigate in and yet not be ONLY for MIDI.
So I´m up for that idea!

My impression is there are people who find it hard enough to pick the correct forum section to post in as it is.
Do people really find it oppressive to scan subject lines with the current (relatively) low level of posting? (I guess mellis' point was that the answer is "yes". :-))

Agreed.
But I think some sort of dividing into more categories could make it easier for beginners to select the right one.
And it sure would've been easier to filter out what is interesting for each individual.
Culd the interfacing part be linked to a new forum (sub forum), so that the arduino main forum does not get very long?
