Incorrect Thermistor Readings

Hey there,
I seem to have some problem with my thermistor.

I have it connected exactly as shown in the playground:
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/ComponentLib/Thermistor
and I am using the exact specified parts and the exact same code.

But for some reason I'm getting values between 270-280, which is around 4 Degrees C. which is certainly not the temperature. :-?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thnx! Thnx!

Ummm....OK, what is the temperature?

If you've reversed +5V and ground I'd say the temperature is closer to 45-50C, but I'm guessing that's not it either?

Can you measure the thermistor's resistance by itself (i.e., out of the circuit) with a DMM? It should be around 10k at room temperature and if you grip it with your fingers, the resistance should go down.

Are you sure the resistor is 10k (brown-black-orange)?
