I am using the APDS 9960 Sensor on the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense currently to measure distance, however, I am facing a problem that the range of the APDS 9960 Sensor does not go beyond 240 on the Serial Monitor even when there isn't an obstacle in front of it.
Was wondering how I could increase the Range to around 500?
The device, the APDS, is 8-bit (255 max.)

Does that mean it is not possible to increase the range to 500?
It's not range, it's resolution. Your range is what it is, output from your sensor is between 0 and 255

What are some alternatives to the ADPS 9960 Sensor/Nano 33 BLE Sense? I would require the new board to contain a gyroscope as well.
Preferably an arduino board in the nano size?
