I am wanting to track the position of a person in a space (about a 20x20x20 meter space), then use the location data to point a moving head light at the person as a hands free follow spot.
I have researched using cameras however this may not be reliable as there might not always be direct line of sight
I have also been researching GPS and have found this wont work well indoors. I've also heard about using IMU's with dead reckoning and have read that its not very accurate or reliable.
Ideally I would like a small device that could be on the person to do this. Maybe triangulation is the way to go?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on ways to do this?
Thanks, that looks like really good stuff however its not quite in my price range, I should add this is for one of my Uni projects. Do you think its possible to make something like this by myself?

Unfortuantely just because its a Uni project, it does not make the technology required cheaper.
I guess given enough experience, knowledge and money you might replicate a similar system in a year or two.
Although if it was that easy you would expect to be able to find lots of 'how to' tutorials out there, this is a project that is suggested on a very regular basis.

Okay thanks, I agree with that. Do you think I could get it to work with a camera? Just as a proof of concept.

No. Pozyx is expensive because it required a team of talented engineers and software developers to create.
Questions like this come up every other day on the forum. If there were a cheap way of doing indoor tracking, you would be able to buy it for next to nothing on Alibaba.
Even if you can locate him , with something like that “poxyz” stuff , you still won’t know which way he is facing to get the spotlight facing the right way .
The mechanics of moving the light around sound pretty hard too.
Give the man a torch or have a bright light in the ceiling .
