I'd search eBay also. Depending on the item, sometimes the prices are a little cheaper there than aliexpress. I don't think you'll find much better prices for actual enclosures than what you see on those two marketplaces unless you're buying in quantity. However, you can find things that will serve as enclosures, though they were not manufactured for that purpose, for a lower price. Metal tins are available for cheap or free. I see people using cheap plastic food storage boxes (AKA "tupperware", though maybe not actually of that brand name). You might find bargains at thrift stores or yard sales. You can repurpose the enclosures of broken appliances that you obtain for free.
I use a regular drill bit for small holes and a spade bit for larger holes. Some plastic is more difficult than others but I've had good luck so far. Definitely take your time with it. Some plastics will actually crack after cooling if you get it too hot. I've seen special bits for drilling acrylic and also seen that people say using a dull regular bit will also work for that purpose.
there are lots and lots of stuff on e-bay, but you need to make your stuff work.
buy some large paper circuit boards, larger than the enclosure. paper boards cut easily with razor knives.
you can buy gland fittings for water proof wire entry.
do your homework. I have seen the same enclosure sell for $12 and also for $2.50. no sense as to why.
as a note, a 10x10 PCB is cheap, if you can limit your size to 10x10 or less, you can have custom PCB's made to fit.
An option, that I use, is to use FreeCAD to design a custom enclosure 3D print it. You get exactly what you want. Since I own a printer it is very cheap. Look for a nearby makerspace, they may be able to help with drawing the model and printing.
