Hi,
not sure if right forum, so please move it if I'm wrong.
I have controllers in metal boxes, and I would like to have them easy attached to holder.
The easiest way to do this is use magnets, as I will just let it there and it will hold, but I'm afraid that the magnets will cause some malfunctions.
What I have inside the boxes:
- 16x02 and 20x04 LCD displays with IIC
- cheap 433MHz modules (these you can find on eBay for 0.99$)
- PCF8575 IIC IO expander
- standalone AT-MEGA 328P with crystal (not Arduino board)
- batteries with DC-DC convertors and charge modules
- Planning to add HC-12 wireless modules.
My biggest worries are about the IIC, because some controllers have inside only display and IO expander for buttons, connected to Arduino via 10m of IIC over CAT6 ethernet cable (I spend lot of time trying pullup resistors to get IIC working over this distance)
I also thinks that the magnets could have bad influence on batteries and decrease wireless range.
Am I right? If I will cover all parts in aluminium foil(or some other shielding), will it be safe to use, or it doesn't make any difference?
Thanks.
