I am brand new to the arduino. Please forgive my lack of knowledge and correct language. bought my son a one up 3d printer which we assembled.
iMac OS 10.9.5
When trying to install arduino, plugging into USB port. Green light but no orange light. Nothing popping up on desktop when plugging in. When using Arduino IDE and setting this up, I only have the following port options: /dev/cu.bluetooth-incoming-port , /dev/cu.bluetooth-modem , and /dev/cu.usbmodem411
In "getting started, it states that I need a port of the following type: /dev/tty.usbmodem
When attempting to upload, I get the following error message:

The bottom of the verbose error is: avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "/dev/cu.usbmodem411": No such file or directory
