Input from the FTDI-cable connected with an tablet

Hi! I'm working on a project which uses an app. The app calculates some random values which then are relevant for the a specific color of a kond of traffic light. Now I want to connect the app with the pro trinket to get the same color for my led. So that the app and the led show the same color at the same time. The question is now if i can get an input via the ftdi cable which is connected per usb with my tablet.

Kind regards ES

ES2016: The question is now if i can get an input via the ftdi cable which is connected per usb with my tablet.

That might mean "will an FTDI cable work with a tablet?" and I have no idea.

Or it might mean "I have an FTDI cable that works with my tablet, is it possible to send data to an Arduino?"

In that case I suspect the answer is yes - assuming you have a program on the tablet that can send data over a Serial connection. If you have then the examples in Serial Input Basics should help get you going on the Arduino side.
