Input signal in Motor Driver for Stepper Motor

Hi all,

I have a:
Bipolar stepper motor: RS 829-3512

Motor driver: RS 829-3553

In the motor driver specs is indicated to run it with a typical input signal (see attachments) which I want to program in Arduino, is anybody able to help and teach how to create it?

Thanks,

See the Thread stepper motor basics and this simple stepper motor code.

The diagram shows the normal HIGH to LOW transition of Arduino I/O pins

...R

  digitalWrite (pin, LOW) ;
  delayMicroseconds (3) ;
  digitalWrite (pin, HIGH) ;

Though there is enough delay already in calling digitalWrite I suspect. Make sure the pin is set as an OUTPUT and made HIGH in setup().

Thanks for the reply both,

At the moment I'm running the motor with the following code, but i can not feel any torque. Can anybody confirm if I have to run the motor driver with two different signals (CW and CCW) as is a bipolar motor? With this code I'm only using the CW signal, but I'm not sure if for the bipolar motor I need CW and CCW.

void setup() { pinMode(13, OUTPUT); //CW pinMode(12, OUTPUT); //enable signal }

void loop() { digitalWrite(12, HIGH); digitalWrite(13, LOW); delayMicroseconds(5); digitalWrite(13, HIGH); delayMicroseconds(5);

}

Thanks for the help,

You will need to post a diagram showing how everything is wired, including the motor power supply. A photo of a pencil drawing will be fine. A photo of the actual hardware is not suitable.

It would help me to help you if you use the code in the first example in this simple stepper code
