One should be able to simply press a button to make a for loop appear.

you need to buy a gaming keyboard e.g. from logitech
They support putting big macros under special keys
Or you but a leonardo that can mimic an USB keyboard and connect it to your PC .

If you can be bothered setting up visual studio, it will give code hints and sample snippets as code completion.
If you want to keep using your standard keyboard and the Arduino IDE then there are many different programs that will allow you to assign macros to shortcut key combinations. If you're using Windows then you could check out AutoHotkey that's a good one I use. I also use EventGhost.
