Hi.
I have a problem installing my Arduino software. when i start the installer i get an error message: Error launching installer.
I had an Arduino software installed in my computer and i uninstalled it before downloading the current Arduino software and trying to install it (and getting the error message).
Can someone tell me how to solve this error message?
Technical information:
OS: windows 10 (64-bit)
Arduino version: 1.8.5
Please run the program arduino_debug.exe, which is located in the Arduino IDE installation folder, from the command line and then post the full output printed there after the launch fails here using code tags (</> button on the toolbar).

I can't reach the program Arduino_debug.exe because I don't have an Arduino IDE installation folder.
the only thing I have is the arduino-1.8.5-windows.exe that I've downloaded from this website. when I try to start the installer I immediately get the error message: Error launching installer and I can't continue the installation.
what can I do to solve this?

Sorry, I didn't notice that part about it being the installer that wouldn't launch. Please try this:
I fixed the problem. it tern out that I had to put the installer file in C:\Program Files (x86)
when I did that everything worked fine.
