Hi I hope you can help, my new Arduino Uno R3 installation is driving me crazy. I started by installing 1.5.5r2 and loading up the basic blink sketch - this worked fine. I was able to change code etc. But if I try to use the serial monitor the IDE locks up. To close the IDE I have to use Task Manager or reboot my machine. I then uninstalled Arduino and installed the 1.05 version. With this version I can load up example sketches but I am unable to alter the sketch or even input text into a empty sketch. Other than that the example sketches work and the serial monitor also works. I noticed that the screen in the IDE is a blue /grey tone ? is this significant.
I am trying to get this working on Windows 7 64bit - I understand these are problems with driver installation with this version of windows but I followed the instructions for this. I have noticed that the Arduino is using Com 15 when I checked using control panel it shows com 3-14 as being used which looks a bit odd.
Any help would be much appreciated.
