Installed new "IDE" but some problems.

Yeah, I am dumb.

I have now installed 3 IDE's.

I don't know how to actually install the new ones. The original one came with an install thing - I think.

So when I load a sketch, the old IDE is loaded.

So I went to the sketch, selected "OPEN WITH" and went to the new IDE. Set it as USE ALWAYS.

Still get the old IDE.

I'm sure I have rebooted too.

let us know what exact problem is.

  1. first check your arduino board is being detected or not ?? Compare port detected in device manager and IDE detected
2)You can use no of IDE. I am using MPIDE /Arduino / UECIDE ide which used to program arduino boards. Install proper drivers.

So far so good.

The problems seems to have gone away.

Another quickie:
All the other directories:
libraries, sketchbooks, etc.

They go in "my documents". They are "bundled" there only for practicality.

Can I delete them in the IDE directory to save space?

Don't do that. So far its working.
For saving your code you can save as any location.

First you decide which IDE you wanna use.Which IDE suitable for your OS/If using windows XP use arduino rev1.0.5 r2
