Installing Arduino IDE (1.6.6.0) on windows XP ??

Hi,

  • I downloaded latest version of Arduino IDE (1.6.6.0).

  • To install the drivers on the Windows XP, its mentioned that I need to point towards "arduino.inf" file, located in the "Drivers" folder. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows

  • However, I could find this file only in old Arduino drivers.zip (within driver folder). I used this file for the installation.

  • Even though, windows is says that device has been installed correctly and ready to use, IDE simply crashes on starting. To be specific, after "preparing baords" comment below it crashes.

Can someone please help me at the earliest.

Open the command line interface/console (cmd.exe)

change directory to the arduino installation folder (cd C:\arduino location)

Run the program arduino_debug.exe from the console, it will dump debug info there.
