I use puppy linux on my old laptop because it can't support ubuntu linux , so any ways to install Arduino IDE ?,
Hi,
What laptop are you using?
I ask because I have just managed to squeeze Ubuntu on an old EeePC 4GB.
Before putting on Arduino I went through Software Centre removing games, OpenOffice, Empathy, Pidgin etc..
Just about 500MB left but it works fine
If Puppy is the only option then the latest versions (5 series) can use Deb packages, but I'd tend to try stripping down Ubuntu first.
Running off a decent sized USB stick might work, with persistency set up.
LinuxLive LinuxLive USB Creator is excellent for this.
Lots of other Linuxes (Linuxii?) as well from here.
If it's driver issues, wifi, graphics etc. the Ubuntu forums are very helpful.

Thanks friend to reply, My laptop is having a Intel Celeron M inside(Mobile Processor) and 256MB RAM with NO HDD
and a CD-ROM that haven't worked from last 2-3 year's (Lens Dead) .
So, ALL the above configuration restrict me to Puppy!

OK! See what you mean.
If you are running Windoze try above mentioned LiLi Linux Live to write Linux to USB.
Unetbootin is excellent as well but trickier to get persistence.
If you're running Linux already just Unetbootin.
Both the above do Puppy and Ubuntu (& lots & lots more).
There are other Distro's like SUSE and Slax that will let you build online but that's more for the Techies among us. You'll end up spending more time on Linux than Arduino.
One reason for my taking up Arduino was that I spent more time Distrohopping than doing useful stuff.
Have a look at http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ as well.
It's great what you can do with a USB stick these days.
Good Luck

Hello,
I have just received my Arduino & installed to my Samsung NC10 running Puppy (4.31).
However I had to install LUPID 5.10 (to a USB stick) in which to use Arduino.
Instructions are here - How to Install Arduino on Lupu-500 - (old)Puppy Linux Discussion Forum
(I used the links supplied at the end of the thread)
Thanks
