Installing arudino-1.8.19 on ubuntu 20.04 removed all the icons

Hi,

I am trying to install arduino-1.8.19 ide (obtained from here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/software) on Ubuntu 20.04.

After the installation, every single icon my task bar disappeared and I cannot even open the Terminal.

To install ide, all i did was sudo ./install.sh. How do I recover task bar icons or at least try to open the terminal?

My last Ubuntu experience was with 12.04. From memory and if nothing has changed since then:

You can open a console from the GUI with<ctrl><alt><Fn> where n is a number from 1..6. You will be prompted to log in.

<ctrl><alt><F7> brings you back to the GUI; <ctrl> might not be needed for this.

Can't help you with your icons.
