I recently purchased my first board and attempted to simply install it. I followed the instructions on the website for Windows and some weird things happened. I install it, download the Arduino package, and plug in the board. Power turns on and pin13 blinks twice. I go to device manager, update device driver and try to use the FTDI driver folder for Windows to look in to find the driver but it says it can't find any. I then try the general drivers folder and it uses the Arduino Mega 2560.inf file and installs. I then see it on COM4 in the ports section.
I now open Arduino and try to run the blink program. The code compiles fine but when I press upload, it just uploads to board for a long time and nothing happens. Pin 13 blinks 5 times, pauses and repeats that cycle indefinitely. Any ideas for help? I already tried the FTDI drivers from the main website but Windows doesn't like any of those files and won't install it. I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
