Instructable contest warning - staff confirms originality counts for nothing

Hi all,

just a quick heads up in case you or a friend are considering entering an Instructables competition.

Staff confirmed publicly that "Originality is specifically NOT one of the criteria that is judged".

This is contrary to the official rules.

Why am I warning about this? Because I've seen numerous projects that were created for contests (like https://www.instructables.com/id/Skittle-Pixel8r/) lose to entries that are largely plagiarized.

If you would like to see examples or proof, I've put it all here: https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/cgcf41/warning_for_creators_instructable_staff_confirms/

It was recommended on the reddit post that original creations would fare better on hackster.io.

No different from ETSY who now sell more Chinese knock off than original craft items....

Its all about the money.

Bob.

Well, you aren't surprised that that worthless site organises a worthless contest, are you ?
