Interacting in real time with a website

Hi,

I want a meatspace switch to act on a graphics component on my website.

For example : I press on my switch. The arduino detects this change, communicates via WiFi to turn a lamp on in my website.

I know for the hardware and I know some HTML, but I'm not sure where to start for the website part. Any pointers ?

Thanks

You might use an arduino web server to receive a GET request from a web page and act on what is contained in the request.

I wonder if @Zoomkat has the wrong end of the stick? It sounds like you want your Arduino to send a message (GET or POST) to an existing website - which is also possible.

I assume the "lamp on your website" is a picture on a PC screen.
